What’s lokalgood about?

Seems to me there’s a lot of cool and useful stuff (people, services, events, businesses, expertise, data) all around you in your neighborhood.  But a lot of it you don’t know about because it can be hard to find local stuff on the web, if it’s on the big web machine at all.  This blog is an experiment in capturing local goodness (ergo the name).

I mess around here with ideas about neighborhood discovery using my own beloved Del Ray as an example.  Others have in the past joined me by adding posts/resources.  If you’re interested in doing so, check out how.  It’s quick, pretty easy and doesn’t require much in the way of web know-how (trust me).

Mostly though lokalgood has become a space where I share resources and observations about local stuff.  Posts ebb and flow as life intervenes.  But the goal of local discovery remains constant, with some new experiments on the community sourced  data front in the works now and to be covered soon.
