Who’s writing?

I’m a 40ish marketing exec by trade, nuts about my wife and three kids, love to gab on entrepreneurial ideas with like-minded buddies, recovering home improvement addict, not-recovering car change addict, budding crossfit enthusiast, developing a troubling affinity for various whiskies, and other stuff ….but most to the point…. an avid proponent of the lifestyle we found in Del Ray.

I love that I can go a whole weekend without setting foot in a car because you can walk everywhere.  I love that my kids can go to school right in the hood (and walk to get there) just like I did in a much smaller town (Waterford).  I love that we have things like butchers and cheese shops and a small pharmacy and restaurants where you know all the folks working there and they know you.  I love the rituals…..like walking with my girls to St. Elmos or to the local frozen custard shop (call it ice cream and they’ll throw your *&^&#  out… not really, but save yourself a reprimand) for an after dinner treat.

So I’m writing about what I know that’s good in this hood.  And working on new ways (like heystack.com) for the community to surface and share good stuff from within its midst.  Because for me what’s local is often what’s most helpful when it comes to information.
